While trying to overcome the overheating challenge on the Sony a6300, I think all sony mirrorless fans have been waiting for this opportunity to happen. We’ve been waiting for a possible hack, similar to what spark the 5D Mark III Raw bonanza. While raw video would be nice on the Sony Mirrorless system, one of the biggest issues plaguing the camera was the 30 minute recording limit. Competitor Panasonic seemed to have cracked the code early on with the GH3 and GH4 line of cameras. In particular, the GH4 being able to offer continuous 4k recording. Several days ago, a hack, was discovered that would install an application inside of the Sony camera allowing the user to enable an extended recording time for the camera.
